Overview

Planning tools used on engineering projects are expensive and closed. OpenPlan aims to give small teams and independents a scheduling engine they can inspect and trust.

Where it stands. Prototype that runs from source only. There is no installer yet and the name is under review, so the rewrite comes before any release.

What the prototype does today

Critical path scheduling

Works out the longest chain of dependent tasks that sets the finish date.

Gantt charts

See the schedule laid out over time, with dependencies.

Resources and baselines

Assign resources, and save a baseline to compare progress against.

How it will be built

The Python prototype becomes the reference implementation. Its 138 tests are the most valuable thing to carry over and are ported first as the specification for the Rust rewrite.

Source

There is no installer yet. A public repository will be linked here once the rewrite is under way and the name is settled.
